The Pitch The stands surrounding the pitch today wore sleeves of sunflower yellow for Hufflepuff and a deep navy blue for Ravenclaw. House flags of yellow and blue waved violently in the cold November wind. The stands began to bustle with students ready to watch and cheer on the first match of the season: Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw. Spectators sat behind tall stands, one decorated in yellow and the other blue. The oval pitch was freshly manicured, stretching to five hundred feet long and eighty feet wide. At the center of the pitch was a small circle intended for the release of the balls. At each end stood three golden hooped Goal posts of differing heights, surrounded by their own scoring areas.
Setting and Weather Conditions Late November. A cold, cloudy day with winds at a moderate-to-high 35 mph. The sky is overcast with a blanket of gray clouds. It rained earlier, leaving the pitch damp. Mild, low-lying fog. Cold enough for scarves and hot chocolate for spectators. Moderate/Hard game conditions.
Teams Begin to Set-Up Teams rally and check their gear anxiously in their house holding arenas at the bottom of the pitch. Last minute strategies are discussed and prideful looks are cast between teammates. (You may set-up with your team and then hop into the game…)
The Game Begins “Hello and welcome to Hogwarts second Quidditch game of the season!” Professor Gunvald announced into an enchanted microphone, “Today’s game, Hufflepuff versus Ravenclaw!” Crowds of cheering spectators sang out with applause, pushing past each other to watch the players file pridefully from the holding arena. Students wore striped yellow and blue scarves and waved flags representing their favorite teams from the stands.
“The players will now take their positions as Madam Valor approaches the field to begin the game!” Her voice rang out to the cheering crowds. Isadora thought to her students playing today, both with worry and pride. Quidditch wasn’t known for being a particularly safe sport. But she knew this was part of the fun.
A gruff looking woman with short, cropped hair and goggles atop her head stepped into the center of the pitch over a large brown case. She looked up to the two teams, who were now out and on their brooms, ready to play. “My name is Madam Valor. I will be acting as referee to this match. We expect a fair, clean game!” The brown box twitched from within. Madam Valor kicked at the box, which suddenly sprang open.
Two violent bludgers sped from the box first, whipping into the air. The Golden Snitch quickly followed, twisting and turning in each direction before flying off.
Madam Valor strode over to the box, now holding a lone Quaffle. She picked the Quaffle up, tossing it into the air between the opposing teams…
“The quaffle is released!” Professor Gunvald bellowed to the crowds, the excited anticipation of the game now building in the stands. “And the game BEGINS!”

Post by Jadis Ravenwood on May 20, 2023 20:55:01 GMT -8
Jadis Ravenwood, feeling determined and spirited in her Hufflepuff Seeker attire, made her way from the Hogwarts castle down to the Quidditch pitch.
Today marked their first match of the season, and they were up against the formidable Ravenclaws. With each step she took, Jadis could feel her excitement grow.
The week leading up to the match had been filled with training sessions and tireless practices. Jadis and her teammates had dedicated time to perfecting strategies and honing their skills. She was determined to have a strong start to the season.
As Jadis moved with an air of confidence, a delightful scent fill the air. It was the unmistakable aroma of rain, her absolute favorite. The earthy scent enveloped her senses, adding an extra layer of joy to the atmosphere. The prospect of rain might not have been ideal for flying, but it invigorated Jadis's spirits nonetheless.
As she made her way across the grounds, Jadis's vibrant purple hair stood out strikingly against the yellow hues in her uniform.

Post by Beowulf Wolf Woodrow on May 21, 2023 14:18:04 GMT -8
Wolf stood in the holding area with his arms crossed and a wide grin spread across his face. If there was any day to prove himself, it would be today. During his first few years at Hogwarts, Beowulf remained mostly in the shadows of the greenhouse or the forest. Luckily, the latter had prepared him for this day. His flights above and through the forbidden forest had been training enough. Plus, he had put in extra hours with his teammates. He barely knew them outside of the pitch, yet he was confident they would play cohesively. He knew Jadis Ravenwood to be quick on her broom, hopefully faster than the Ravenclaw seeker. Wolf would place his bets on Jadis. He glanced toward Zander Keahi and Sibyl Wildes, both fairly new Chasers.
Beowulf held his helmet under his arm, scanning the room. The sound of the crowd outside buzzed in his chest. He was happy they were taking on Ravenclaw today instead of Slytherin. After watching the last match, Slytherin was the last team he wanted to go against. He thought Loce, Anneli, and Cordelia were all formidable players. Though, it could be interesting to go against Cordelia. Wolf circled the room, allowing his nerves in. His heart beat fast with anticipation.
His chest gear was tight at his middle. He stopped at Jadis, nodding at her, "We've got this." He assured her, though perhaps it was to himself. Wolf grinned, "I took a note out of Gryffindor's book...we have a chant to emerge with when everyone is ready." He winked at her playfully.

Heather swept into the locker room, already wearing her uniform, but hadn't strapped on the rest of her gear yet. "Let's do this, team!" she said cheerfully. "Hopefully the rain holds off and doesn't turn into a downpour." She pulls out her bag from the locker and begins to pull on her gloves. She was usually filled with anticipation and excitement before a quidditch match, but something was different this time. This would be the first time she was going up against Wesley since they'd really entered each other's worlds. It added an extra layer of butterflies to her stomach. She really hoped when she got on the pitch that she'd fall back on her instincts of the game and not psych herself out. Maybe she'd just not quite look at him during the match...maybe it would help if she just kept her focus on the quaffle and the rings she needed to get it through. She just needed to think of him as any other keeper she'd be up against in a match. He could be Wesley later, after the game.
She tried to take a calming breath. The more she spiraled about it, the more she was worried that she really would psych herself out. It was a dangerous rabbit hole to fall down. She finished strapping on her other glove and then reached for her wand and tapped her head. Her hair maneuvered itself into a pony tail that would stay out of her face as she flew.

Sibyl had searched her Inner Eye for the outcome to today's game several times before standing in the Hufflepuff team locker rooms. She wanted to be able to bring a vision of success to the team, but couldn't without lying to their faces. Sibyl was not close with her team outside of the pitch. In fact, even the friendliest of Hufflepuffs thought she was a bit odd. Her hair was cropped in random spots and dark circles hung below her grey eyes. Sibyl checked her Chaser gear. As she moved her hands across her kneepads, a shiver crept up her limbs and buzzed in her mind. She sat down on a locker room bench. Her eyes closed. An image started to form in her mind...there was the golden shimmer of a snitch. A cloudy sky. An outreaching hand, but what was the colour on the sleeve? Sibyl pushed her mind deeper into the vision in hopes to know the answer. But it didn't come. Instead, the sound of the cheers outside broke her concentration. She shoved away the thought. Whatever her vision, they would need to play their asses off against Ravenclaw. That much was known.
She turned to her team, "Jadis..." Her British accent thick, yet her voice was like a bell, "I have a good feeling about this game, I think this match will ultimately come down to...you. No pressure." Sibyl patted her shoulder and smiled, "Let's do this."

The sun did not shine brightly over Hogwarts grounds today. Not the best start to the day, as Wesley made his way down to the Quidditch Pitch. As Wesley entered the Ravenclaw holding area, he took a moment to soak in the familiar surroundings. A cool breeze swept through the open windows, carrying with it the distant sounds of students cheering from the stands. The areana was abuzz, as always which puts a smile on his face.
Inside, Wesley found a quiet corner and began performing his usual series of stretches, feeling the satisfying pull in his muscles. He extended his arms overhead, feeling the stretch reach down his back, trying to ease the tension building within him.

The Golden Snitch has been caught by... R A V E N C L A W ! +50 POINTS ADDED TO OVERALL SCORE
+50 points will be added to their overall score. Don't fret Hufflepuff, this does not necessarily mean Ravenclaw will win, however they do have an advantage. Here are the "Golden Snitch" rules as a reminder: 1. The Seeker of the team who gets the snitch MUST RP catching it. 2. If the Seeker does not RP catching the snitch within 24 hours of the game’s start, the other team’s seeker will have another 24 hours to post a thread where they “steal” the snitch from the other seeker. If neither seeker posts the game will be decided on goals. 3. A seeker does not need to be an active player. It can be a classmate that has been made up by the team. In that case, the team must post for the Seeker. 4. Catching the Snitch = 50 Extra Points. Catching the Snitch does not *necessarily* mean winning the game. You can still win by points.

Post by Aracely Minh Davies on May 22, 2023 19:48:03 GMT -8
Aracely Davies hurried along the corridors of Hogwarts, her heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and nervous anticipation. Today was a big day for her—her debut as a flier for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Her sister, Ameryn, was already a celebrated member of the Gryffindor team, Aracely was determined to make her own mark and show the school her own skill. But there was something more to Aracely's enthusiasm, something that made her steps a little lighter and her smile a little brighter.
Ezra was the reason behind her newfound confidence. His presence had a way of brightening her day, and just the thought of him brought a blush to her cheeks. In team practices, Aracely had been performing exceptionally well, showcasing her skills as a flier. But it was the private sessions with Ezra that had truly made her heart soar. The warm nights spent flying together had ignited a fire within her, making her pulse race and her nerves tingle with excitement. Every moment spent with him was precious, and she cherished their time together.
As she hurried into the Ravenclaw holding area, Aracely's eyes scanned the room, searching for one person above all else—Ezra. Among the chatter and preparation, her gaze focused on finding him amidst the familiar faces. She longed to see his warm smile, to feel the reassurance and support that he never failed to provide.

Heather gave a final sigh to calm herself and then finished adjusting the rest of her gear. "Let's do this, team!" she cheers as she grabs her broom and walks out of the locker room and onto the pitch. She looks around at the cheering crowd. Their energy fueled her. She grinned. As she turned her attention to the ref explaining the rules they all knew so well (really, did they have to go over it every single time?), she caught sight of Wesley. She glanced quickly away, but she could feel the blush creep up into her cheeks. She bit her lip to keep from smiling.
She gripped her broom handle tightly, ready to take off when they were signaled to do so.

Ezra had trained day and night for this game. Half of his gameplay was scribbled as diagrams and possible Hufflepuff plays in his leather-bound notebook. This would be his first match as Ravenclaw Captain, a responsibility he didn't take delicately. Ezra grinned as he secured his leg pads. If there were any two things he took with complete seriousness, it was Quidditch and Aracely. Both would be implicated in this game if it didn't go well. He wanted to take the win for some Ravenclaw pride, but of course he would love to impress her in the process.
He strode into the locker room beaming. Ezra flowed with the excited energy around him. He grinned as he walked past Wesley, "Wolf has nothing on you, mate," Ezra moved to touch knuckles with him, "He's a great guy, but I still think we have the best Keeper." He pat his back, moving to address the entire team. Ezra bounded up onto a bench, "Ravenclaw!" He announced, his face bright with enthusiasm, "I'm happy to be playing with some of the most intelligent, agile players in the entire castle. If we stay cohesive and communicate just like in our practices, there's nothing we can't take on." Ezra smiled, "Especially Hufflepuff. I don't want to blow our heads up too much, but this will be just like another practice. Trust in your teammates and nod for help. We've got your back." He nodded to the group, bouncing off the bench. But not quite ready yet. ` Ezra strolled up to Aracely, taking her hand into his, "I hope I'll be able to focus up there...you look beautiful in your gear," He laughed, a blush crossing his cheeks, "Though it's no surprise, you are gorgeous every day. The outfit is just a bonus." Ezra said, kissing her forehead. He slung his arm around her shoulders confidently, moving her aside from the group. Ezra turned to her, his tall frame shadowing her from view, "How are you feeling about today?" He asked softly, waiting for her answer. Ezra wanted to check in with her, remembering the nerves of his first game. It wasn't needed though, he was completely confident in her skill. Aracely was a dark horse. When he least expected it, she pounced ahead in practices. She was a natural.
"I'm feeling good today. I mean, we have a strong Keeper, an agile Seeker...and we have you. I have you." Ezra squeezed her hand. A goofy smile appeared on his face. He wasn't entirely composed around her yet, "I need to get something off my chest before this game. I've thought about you more every day since we met on the lawns." Ezra shook his head, wishing he had planned this part. "Win or lose today, Aracely, I've won regardless. Your grace grounds me, I can only hope to serve you." Thoughts of his grandfather ran through his mind. He smiled, gazing at her, "I know we haven't made it official yet, but I wish to. Would you be my girlfriend Aracely?" Ezra kissed her then. All of his nerves expressed through his lips. He held her in his arms despite the looks from the team. Ezra retracted, grinning brilliantly down at her.
Now, he was ready.

Inside the Ravenclaw holding area, Ezra captivated the group. Her eyes lock onto his familiar figure, and a wave of relief and delight washed over her. He is busy instilling confidence and morale in the group as if it were second nature to him. Aracely claps along with his words, cheering him on as he cheers on the team.
Ezra approaches her directly now and she beams up at him as he compliments her in her uniform, her cheeks flush with a pink color. "I was feeling a tad nervous..." She admits, it's a nerve-wracking thing after-all. "But not so much now." She adds and it's true. Ezra stood there, exuding a calm confidence that she found contagious. She loved how ready to support her he was as she embarked on this new chapter of her Quidditch journey.
Ezra's hand holding hers was all the comfort she needed. He speaks almost rushed, like he just has to get this out and as each word tumbles from his mouth emotions stir within her that she couldn't fully articulate, a mix of admiration, affection, and an overwhelming sense of being understood. Would you be my girlfriend? The words bounced around in her head and Aracely was unable to contain the smile that graced her lips.
"The anticipation of this match and the thrill of being part of this team... all of it was nothing compared to to the idea that you would be by my side." She admits in a low voice for him to hear. "Yes." She says, quickly and clearly, "Yes, of course." Her tone softens and her expression exudes warmth as her eyes stare into his.
At that moment, Aracely felt an invincible bond, both as teammates and as something more. Ezra was officially her boyfriend. All felt right. She knew that together, they had the power to conquer any obstacle that lay ahead, not only on the Quidditch pitch but in the journey of their relationship moving forward.
With a flutter of excitement, Aracely flings her arms around his neck and kisses him, uncaring of the eyes that are watching. When she takes a step back she takes her place among their teammates, her eyes glancing towards Ezra, finding solace in his presence. "Okay, Captain." She chuckles, offering a salute. "Let's win this, shall we?"
As the Ravenclaw team prepared to take flight, Aracely's heart brimmed with determination.
Win or lose, today officially would be the beginning of an extraordinary adventure.

Post by Zander Keahi on May 23, 2023 9:23:01 GMT -8
Zander Keahi, a seventh-year student at Hogwarts, exuded confidence as he made his way to the Quidditch Pitch. Standing tall with his dark features and a captivating smile. As he trotted toward the Hufflepuff area, fully dressed in his Quidditch Chaser attire, Zander's excitement radiated like a beacon. He knew that today's match was an important one, their first of the season… but he had complete faith in his teammates' abilities.
He looks around the room, recognizing some of the familiar faces he’d been training with: Jadis, Sibyl, Heather, and Wolf. They were all talented players, and he had witnessed their skills during those practices. Despite being new to the school and to team sports, Zander was no stranger to flying. His parents' frequent moves had exposed him to different environments, allowing him to hone his flying skills along the way. Approaching his teammates with infectious enthusiasm, Zander greeted them with warm smiles and spirited words of encouragement. He aimed to lift team spirit. Extending his hand, he offers a high-five to Jadis, their Seeker, "You got this." He says simply. Looking around at everyone, "We all do."
Heather Nicholson eagerly grabs her broom and readily moves out onto the pitch. She was clearly motivated and ready to get this game going. Zander follows suit, nodding his head in her direction as the Hufflepuff team takes the field. He listens intently to the rules, his fingers twitching to take off into the sky and nab a quaffle as soon as possible.

Alright, Wesley takes one long look around at his Teammates. The tender moment between Aracely and Ezra was hard to ignore, but he felt like he was intruding on their moment. He picked a spot in the tent and stared at some of the fraying fabric as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. He chuckles under his breath a little bit as his thought drifted to Heather. It was long overdue he initiate a similar kind of conversation...
As soon as Aracely broke away and returned to their sides he grins at them. "Ra-Ra-Ravenclaw!" He shouts once. "Ra-Ra-Ravenclaw!" He calls out a second time. By the third time other voices have chimed in until it's a full on chant, rising in both volume and excitement. Wesley was grinning now, as the team unified in cheer.
He felt more ready than ever for this game now. He wanted to just get out there already and see Heather. He grabs his broom and marches with purpose out onto the field, surrounded by some of the best players at the school. As soon as his feet touch the grass he spots that red hair, pulled up into a pony tail. He smirked and as he passed her gave her hair a light tug, he couldn't help himself. "Good Luck." He says in a low voice. His eyes look her up and down. She looks good as ever. He flashes her a huge smile before mounting his broom and kicking off into the air.
He circles the pitch once, fast and ends hovering between the rings of the Ravenclaw goal posts. He waves out at the Ravenclaw stands gaining comfort in the house cheers.

Jadis felt a surge of pride and determination with all her teammates support. “Wow guys, I’m blushing over here.” She jokes at the attention. Seeker was a valuable position on the team, not that any of the spots weren’t. But Jadis definitely felt the pressure. As seeker, her role could prove crucial.
Jadis had spent countless hours working on her reflexes and today, she was ready to put her skills to the test and soar through the sky with speed. A confident smile graces her face as Jadis follows Heather out onto the pitch. Right now, it was a battleground where her teams would collide with Ravenclaw.
The energy in the air, as spectators cheer, is one of the best aspects of the game. It was like everyone had their own important roles right now, even every single voice in the stands. She held her broom tight and mounted it swiftly. She kicks off into the air and grins as the wind sweeps through her purple hair.

Ezra grinned wholly as he took her in. Her warm smile grounded him. The question of whether or not she would be his girlfriend had been on the tip of his tongue the last few times they hung out, but it was finally time. The adrenaline of the cheering crowds soared through him. He pulled his arm around her waist, smiling at her, "I'll ensure you never regret the decision." Ezra winked at her, a genuine warmth to his cheery eyes. He bent down, holding her there in a kiss. Aracely helped him to refocus. She was his girlfriend now. A newfound confidence shown through his beaming smile.
He smirked as he called her Captain. Her salute ran butterflies through his stomach. Ezra gently put a few stray hairs behind her ear, "I may be the Captain, but I know where my orders come from." He winked at her, almost forgetting about the rest of the holding room. His mind was recaptured by Wesley's Ravenclaw chant. He beamed, "With us two as Chasers, they don't stand a chance." Ezra knew that they would be able to communicate better than most of the team. There was a quiet connection of minds between Ezra and Aracely. Both were extremely intelligent and intuitive to each other, he was sure they would have the upper hand.
Ezra kissed her one final time before leading the team out onto the pitch. He rounded the pitch, flying through light clouds of fog. Despite the overcast weather, the crowds cheered and waved colourful flags. Ezra raced around the pitch again in a calm, steady flight. He knew his way around a broom.
He took his place at the center of the pitch, nodding to Aracely with a smile. This would be their game. His heart raced as the balls were released. The game was on.
Ezra was quick to capture the Quaffle first. He raced toward the Hufflepuff goal posts, the Quaffle fit tightly under his arm. Ezra quickly scanned behind him for any bludgers or defense. It appeared the goal post was open, Wolf was not yet centered. He released the Quaffle, watching as it went straight for the middle of the Hufflepuff goal post....
