Quidditch Rules
Since it is impossible for everyone to be on at the same time, this is how Quidditch will work here.
Game Play:
1. All games will be scheduled at the beginning of each year. You can pick a position here and check the schedule here.
2. The outcome (which team catches the snitch) will be determined by a set of 3 Harry Potter trivia questions PM’ed to a member from each team on a Friday (or to whoever they nominate to answer the trivia questions). The team who gives me the correct answer first wins (catches the snitch).
3. A house does not have to have active players for every position in order to play. The only requirement is that there must be 1 active player per team.
4. “Goals” will be scored as follows:
The game post will open on a Thursday. You can allow your teams time to get to the pitch and warm up, or jump right into the game. (if you do not/cannot post on Thursday, just jump into the game as if you have been there from the beginning). Games end on a Monday.
Final game scores will be posted the day after the game’s end.
Incentive to win a Quidditch game: +50 House Points!!! (and well as -25 Points to the opposing house )
Additionally, Players will each earn an additional +10 House Points (minimum 1 post) for participation and +50 House Points if their team catches the snitch.
P.s: This all looks confusing but most of the work will be done by me. Just post in game and I will count the house points/scoring.

- The Seeker of the team who gets the snitch MUST RP catching it.
- If the Seeker does not RP catching the snitch within 24 hours of the game’s start, the other team’s seeker will have another 24 hours to post a thread where they “steal” the snitch from the other seeker. If neither seeker posts the game will be decided on goals.
- A seeker does not need to be an active player. It can be a classmate that has been made up by the team. In that case, the team must post for the Seeker.
- Catching the Snitch = 50 Extra Points. Catching the Snitch does not *necessarily* mean winning the game. You can still win by points.
3. A house does not have to have active players for every position in order to play. The only requirement is that there must be 1 active player per team.
4. “Goals” will be scored as follows:
- 10 points will be awarded for each active player on the roster that posts at least once in the thread. (equaling an initial 70 pts per team if each player posts)
- Additional points are granted by writing following posts.
- Posts under 5 sentences: 1 points per post
- Posts 5 sentences or more: 2 points per post
- For every line over 5 sentences in a post: you will receive ½ points per sentence
